How much does a vet cost in Bucharest?
At Joyvet, a standard veterinary consultation from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 21:00, costs 150 RON. A daytime consultation during weekends or public holidays costs 200 RON, while a night consultation or second-opinion consultation costs 250 RON.
Dog dental cleaning costs between 500 and 800 RON, depending on body weight. Cat dental cleaning costs between 450 and 500 RON. These dental cleaning prices include inhalation anaesthesia.
Neutering a male cat costs 400 RON, while spaying a female cat costs 600 RON. Dog spay and neuter prices range from 650 to 1,900 RON, depending on the dog’s sex and weight.
Important information about our veterinary prices
Some veterinary services have a fixed price. Others depend on the animal’s weight, clinical condition, anaesthetic risk, procedure complexity, required diagnostic tests and the treatment plan recommended after examination.
A standard consultation includes:
- a clinical examination;
- written recommendations;
- a prescription when clinically indicated.
The consultation price does not include medication, injections, laboratory tests, imaging, treatment or other procedures.
Vaccination requires a separate veterinary consultation. X-rays are charged per exposure. Endoscopy and rhinoscopy prices do not include anaesthesia unless specifically stated otherwise.

Pet hospitalisation cost in Bucharest
Hospitalisation is charged per 12-hour period. It may be recommended when a dog or cat requires monitoring, IV fluids, supportive care, postoperative observation or ongoing treatment.
What is included in a 12-hour hospitalisation period?
The hospitalisation fee includes an intravenous catheter, standard crystalloid or colloid fluids, nebulisation when required, food, litter, pet pads, basic cleaning and monitoring according to the patient’s condition.
Blood, albumin, fresh frozen plasma, Kabiven and other special products are not included.
What is charged separately?
Blood tests, wound suturing, injectable or oral medication, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication, antiemetics, transfusions, feeding tubes and other specific procedures are charged separately when needed.
